Network of Global Affiliates

Tokyo, Japan — May, 2007 The Hans Selye Foundation launches an international affiliate, The Tokyo-Selye Center. Building on our Institute and Foundation’s work, the Tokyo-Selye Center will:

  • Conduct applied research concerning workplace change and stress in Japan
  • Train and certify professionals in appropriate brief counseling methods
  • Certify professionals for, and directly provide workplace training and consulting services

The Center is headed by Professor Takashi Sato, an extensively experienced industrial psychologist who has been trained by and worked closely with the Canadian Institute of Stress since 1996.

You are invited to visit their Japanese language homepage at http://www.sipe-selye.co.jp

Or you may view it in rough Google Japanese-to-English translation at: This special Link

Since 1956, when Dr. Selye welcomed his first Japanese post-doctoral student, we have continued to train Japanese practitioners, consultants and researchers, both in Canada and in association with several of Japan’s leading universities.

International Affiliate Organizations We welcome developing such collaborative international relationships in which Institute and Foundation experience can broaden the local affiliate’s base for success. We give priority to those proposed affiliations which are clearly of mutual benefit and which support the (i) applied research, (ii) distance education & professional certification and (iii) service-development aims of the Institute and of our sister organization, The Vital Corporation .
